Remit of Governing Body
The Governing Body has a range of responsibilities and duties to ensure that high standards of educational achievement are promoted. Governors have a broad range of skills and experience and with their areas of interest and expertise, take responsibility for monitoring an aspect of school improvement. In accordance with the Government’s requirement for all governing bodies, the three core strategic functions of St Robert’s Catholic Primary School Governing Body are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
Structure of the Governing Body
There are 10 members of the St Robert's Catholic Primary School, a Voluntary Academy
Two Parent Governors
One Staff Governor
6 Foundation Governors
The Full Governing Body (Academy Council) meets on 6 occasions during the school year. Sub committees are organised as appropriate and utilised as necessary. The Chair of Governors is Dr M Blackamore.
